Monica joined Martin Waymire in May 2008 as an intern, but quickly earned respect for her understanding of public relations tactics. She joined the staff full-time after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in advertising with a specialization in public relations from Michigan State University in 2009.

While at Martin Waymire, Monica played an instrumental role in leading a large-scale student support effort for MSU's bid for the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams in 2008. She coined the slogan "Bring FRIB to our Crib!" and organized a student advisory committee that held a campus event called "FRIB Frenzy." This event received extensive media coverage and the slogan was mentioned in more than a hundred news stories.

Monica’s fluency in social media and creative knack helps engage key audiences for a variety of clients. By keeping on top of the latest social media marketing trends and participating in many of the platforms herself, she has earned her role as a facilitator for the company’s social media trainings to get clients up-to-speed in the Web 2.0 world.

As an undergraduate, Monica served on the executive board of the Public Relations Student Society of America MSU chapter. She was director of the 2009 Bateman Case Study Competition for her chapter--a public relations competition in which teams have one month to implement a grassroots campaign in their local communities. Monica led her team to a second place finish in the nation--the highest finish in the school's history. Her work and pre-professional achievements have been recognized through several awards, including the National Outstanding Internship Award at the 2008 PRSSA National Conference and the Outstanding Public Relations Senior Award from the department of Advertising, Public Relations and Retailing at MSU.

She previously worked as a marketing assistant for MSU Global.
