During 25 years as a reporter and public relations executive, David has become one of the most respected communication leaders in Michigan. Winning major state and national awards as a reporter and for public relations campaigns, David melds words, ideas and credibility with relationships with political, business and media leaders, creating powerful advocacy communications capable of motivating policymakers, opinion leaders and the public into actions that benefit his clients and make Michigan a better place to live and work.
Among David's career highlights was managing the "No on Prop. 4" campaign of 2002, taking a campaign that was losing 2 to 1 and turning it into a landslide winner by Election Day. That campaign was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America as the top public relations campaign in the nation, and PRSA awarded the campaign the Best of Silver Anvil Award in 2003.
David earned his bachelors degree in journalism from Northwestern University, with a major emphasis in his studies on economics and history. He served as a reporter at Belleville, Illinois News Democrat, before moving to Michigan in 1980 where he reported for the Flint Journal. In 1982, David was assigned to the Booth Newspapers Capitol Bureau. For eight years, David was chief political writer for Booth's group of eight Michigan newspapers, covering three national presidential conventions and coordinating coverage for two. He received 1988 Morgan O'Leary Award as top political reporter in Michigan for data-base driven investigative analysis of connections between political contributions and specific votes in the Michigan Legislature.
